The Kerala Private Bus Operators Federation has launched electronic ticketing system (E-tickets) for private buses in Kerala.

Kochi, 11 January 2011: The Kerala Private Bus Operators Federation has launched electronic ticketing system (E-tickets) for private buses in Kerala. The system was inaugurated by V .S. Sivakumar, State Transport Minister, issuing an electronic ticket to Hibi Eden, MLA in Kochi. The scheme will be implemented in regions such as Aluva, Perumbavur, Angamaly, Piravam, Muvattupuzha, Paravur and Tripunithura and later made available all over the state. The private buses will also be fitted with Public Information System and Global Positioning System which will announce the route and stops which the bus will be travelling to the passengers.  There will be  lucky draw  in every week in the E tickets also –  Mathrubhumi reports says.
